Prior to beginning construction on this backyard project we brought in a landscape designer to help with overall layout, structure design and material selections. This backyard had a small footprint and poor access, which made planning and preparation very important. The customer wanted an outdoor cabana with a seating area and change room, in-ground pool and a new deck off the back of the house. We began by having the excavation done to accommodate the new pool, patio, and footings for the structure. The cabana’s seating area included a large gas burning fireplace, big screen TV and enough seating for 8 people. Beside the seating area were two rooms; one was a change room and the other housed the pool equipment and doubled as a storage area. Tongue and groove cedar was paired with dark grey and black, which gave the cabana a modern and bold look.
Next to the cabana was a modest sized in-ground pool that included a waterfall feature and a beautiful interlocking stone patio that stretched across a majority of the backyard.
Attached to the house was an existing pressure treated deck. We removed the existing deck boards and extended the structure to meet the new stone patio. Composite decking was then added to the deck joists, which tied it into the rest of the backyard.
Landscape lighting and plants were strategically placed throughout the backyard to finish off this backyard oasis.
