This project involved a complete renovation of the main floor of this two storey home. We began the renovation by removing a load bearing wall that seperated the kitchen from the rest of the living area. Next was the removal of all floor coverings (existing hardwood and tiled floors) and all existing popcorn ceilings. We then had our various sub-trades move all utilities that were running through the bearing wall and had them move necessary utilities in order to accommodate the new kitchen layout.

Hardwood flooring was then installed throughout the main floor and the staircase leading to the basement and upstairs was stripped down to plywood and received new treads, risers, newel posts and railings.

Our clients worked with the cabinetmaker to incorporate storage solutions and seating arrangements that would fit their lifestyle. They wanted a kitchen that was great for entertaining guests and was functional for everyday use.  The kitchen included a large peninsula with seating for four, small island with seating, and beautiful granite countertops.

To finish off the space, we installed modern casing and baseboard trim, all new doors, custom sliding barn doors, and installed a new barn-beam style mantle.
